Love being an artist!

“Hi weekend, you couldn’t have come any sooner. I know this is cliché, but I feel as an artist you constantly question your direction. Is this the best representation of myself? Is this what people want? Will I make a difference? Is this what I am meant to do? About a million questions similar to this plague my mind every day, all day and honestly, it can become tiring and all the Jack White music in the world can’t drown it out. I guess that these questions are what makes being an artist appealing, you have the chance to change, grow, (digress even if you so choose) and carve out your path in the world. Call me shallow, but a few good reviews keep the selfish self-loathing in check. I genuinely couldn’t believe some of the press that I have been receiving this week, and I couldn’t be more appreciative. I kind of want to send a thank you card in the mail; it is so much more awesome than a Facebook message that reads “thnx 4 the review”. That is just not sufficient. These people deserve a hand written letter signer with a big heart and several x’s, after all they took the time to sit and listen to my EP and spend their precious time composing a review about ME. One website said I was “easy on the ears and easy on the eyes”.  I’m a girl and sometimes you just need someone to say “hey you look hot!!!!” But one of the best things that a reviewer has said about me was that was reminiscent of Cee-Lo Green! I am not sure if anyone is aware, but, I LOVE HIS MUSIC! I can’t get enough of him. I even listened to his 7up commercial on repeat.
Basically, I just would like to thank anyone who has taken the time to listen and take the time to talk about it. That’s awesome.”

“Here is another photo taken by my sister Marteal Boniello! This dress is also by Jesus Estrada (who was on Project Runway)!”

“Tomorrow, May 23rd, I will be on Blog Talk Radio! The show is at 2 PM EST and fans can call in at 1 (347) 677-1036. Tune in here:”

“I got another review! Thank you to C.W. Ross at CWsPlace.com! ”

“SO we are less than a week away from my show at DROM, and sadly I am far too tired to be excited about it at the moment. My weekend has been filled with tutus, children’s music and excessive amounts of bobby pin and hair spray. Yes, the dance school I work at had their annual recital. That is 500 students, plus 2000 parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings all organized into 5 recitals in 1 DAY! Needless to say, my voice is almost non-existent (which is making me incredibly nervous) and my feet and legs have a horrible sensation of pins and needles from over-use…. O sound like an old person.
I sound like a whiney old person. Regardless of my aching body, the recitals went on with minimal flaws, and my students were by far the cutest! These toddlers were strutting their stuff in fluffy layers of shimmery tool and tiaras. Well, realistically I was lucky to get them to plié all together because they were so excited to be on stage and dressed like a princess.
Today I have been listening to different versions of “Will you still love me tomorrow” for my show. I’m not sure who I am going to want to channel the day of. I find that envisioning myself as someone I look up to works in theory, but it never translates well in a performance. It really is impossible to be like someone else, no matter how much time you try to plan and prep. When you are the center of attention and under pressure with adrenaline pumping through your body, you’re just going to be the best hyped up version of yourself… hopefully.
Going to listen to My Chemical Romance’s version of “Under Pressure”…It sums up present mood perfectly.”

“Uhh I love you jack white!”

“My show at DROM is only 3 days away! I am so excited! First 50 people get a free copy of my EP!”

“We are now 3 days away from my show at DROM on May 26th! The first 50 people that are admitted will receive a free copy of my debut EP! See you there!”

“Oh Jack White… how I still love you. My sister and I saw Jack on Tuesday and he did not disappoint! He had an amazing set backed up by a band consisting entirely of women musicians in pale blue dresses. It kind of looked like a 1970 style prom, in the most bad-ass, Jack White way possible. Not only did he kill it first time around, but he had a little surprise up his sleeve and opened the second stage for his encore with a whole new band. Very awesome. But what I was most excited about was being introduced to the… ALABAMA SHAKES. I have decided the singer chick is Janis Joplin reincarnated in the body of a curvy, afro rocking black woman. Seriously, I have not seen any women resemble Janis Joplin’s type of performing, until the Alabama Shakes, and it was incredible. I am totally hooked and plan on following these guys around for a while. This concert couldn’t even be slight ruined by the drunken idiot head banging in front of us, or the creepy older guy insisting on showing us his nipple ring. Guy, you’re like 40, going grey, and showing off your nipple ring (singular: he couldn’t even manage to do both) and your dumb ass tattoos of fish… sorry, but not interested. Anyways, it was a really good concert to see to get me feeling motivated for my show. I have had several good reviews this week and 2 good voice lessons with Ms. Candance Goetz.”

“I think I have realized why I am an artist. Everyone knows their strengths and weaknesses, and what job (s) they are good at because of their skill sets etc. For example, my sister is creative and artistic, so she is a talented fashion designer. (Shout out to Marteal and Estrada) My boyfriend is freakishly smart and detail oriented, therefor is a great computer programmer. I myself am quite moody, often irrational, and severely emotional at times. I think at this time I would like to quickly apologize to my lovely boyfriend for accepting the fact that I try to break up with him about once a month. After three years he knows the routine, and keeps me grounded to the best of his ability. That being said, a bit of emotion and irrationality is the perfect recipe for an artist! Has any famed artist been known for their punctuality or time management skills? No! They are known for their passion and drive. I often find myself tinkering at the piano whenever I become “emotional,” with a box of tissues near-by. I swear I never used to be this dramatic… I don’t know what has happened to me.”

For those of you think that you can wake up in the morning decide that you can be a singer especially in this social media age, you have to think again.  Having experience and an education on singing, Alisa Boniello has definitely has paid her dues to become a star in this industry…”

I am so excited! May is absolutely a huge month for me. Barry and I wrote the EP months ago and I can’t believe it is finally being released! I have been waiting in anticipation for this day and it is fast approaching. I am very proud of this EP and hope that it is enjoyed by anyone who listens.
Like I said before this month is big for me. This weekend I celebrated my 24th birthday. My boyfriend took me out to my favorite Freemans, my favorite restaurant and then out for a night of drinking, obviously. I am not really the type of person who needs to be center of attention, (unless I’m performing, which in that case I’m all about being front and center) so my sister organized some of my friends for a night of bar hopping in the east village. It was absolutely perfect.
And of course my show which is quickly approaching on May 26th at DROM. Trying to pick out an outfit for the night, but indecisive should be my middle name, and I have narrowed the selection down to everything in my closet, as well at most things in my sisters closet. Well I guess I have a little while until I am forced to make a decision.

My debut EP “Lovestruck” is now available!
I collaborated with Grammy Award winning songwriter/ producer Barry Eastmond, (Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Anita Baker) on co-writing four songs, “Lovestruck,” a retro-soul/pop ditty, “(When Will) Love Feel Real,” an upbeat love saga, the whimsical ballad, “Why,” and the pulsating and edgy “That Kind Of Girl,” co-written and co-produced by Wendell Hanes, (Mya, Cheri Dennis) and Dan Kramer.
The songs deal with all the various stages of love and relationships, from feeling butterflies and falling in love, facing the challenges of staying in love, and surviving the pain and hurt of falling out of love.
